This site started out about two pioneering families of the Gulargambone district. Alfred and Eliza Skinner with 13 children and James Davis and Jane Smith with 12 children who settled at Brightling and Lewinsfield respectively in 1881. Three of the Skinners married Smiths, Alfred jnr Skinner to Sarah Jane Smith, George Joseph Skinner to Martha Ellen Smith and Ada Lily Skinner to Arthur James Smith.
