Julia outlived Francis by a few years before she passed away on the 23«sup»rd«/sup» of December 1934. The Sydney Morning herald of 7«sup»th«/sup» Jan 1935 has a very brief obituary for Julia which simply says «i»At Numeralla, Mrs Julia Elizabeth Thomas, widow of Frank E Thomas died aged 78.«/i» «i»She was born in England and came to Monaro with her father James Skinner when she was eight years old. «/i»Julia was buried at Numeralla cemetery and interestingly the headstone for Julia which was commissioned by her children and grandchildren makes no mention of her husband, Francis.
