Alberts birth certificate is registered in the district of Carcoar and, from a family note, it is stated he was born at Neville (not far from Carcoar) so Mt. Macquarie is probably close by; stillto be investigated further. His father, James, was stated to be a carpenter at this time.. P.S. A number of old photos show the farm at Neville.

Albert was the gardener at 'Valetta' in Gore Hill, NSW and it was there he met Anita Craig, the personal maid for Miss Evelyn Whiting. Their first child, Audrey, was born in the gardeners cottage where they lived in 1908. The cottage was partof the Valetta stables and is still in existence as part of North Sydnet TAFE.
